MANILA, Philippines — In the shadows of rising wealth, beneath the towering bronze statues of presidents, is the pavement where 18-year-old Ricky Nieco sleeps every night.
“I walk around our place and see kids sniffing solvents,” Nieco said from the outskirts of Intramuros Golf Club, a grassy area nestled alongside two major intersections leading towards Manila Bay.
